This is a result of a video recording I was planning to do long time ago ‒ which can be watched HERE on Vimeo (thank you Vibrasphere and Emancipator for the awesome soundtrack)! To record the whole painting process was one of the best parts ‒ not only because I can show how I work, but also because I can know exactly how much time I spent on the piece. The whole painting was done in Photoshop CS3 with help of studies and, of course, references (here is one I used).
About the creature featured here, its name is s'vaydaa, a dangerous and toxic animal that lives in the depths of ocean, feeding on jellyfish. I also chose the title "Live Water" because the translation of "jellyfish" in Portuguese is "água-viva", which is composed by two names that, in literary sense, means "live water" (translating separately: água = water; viva = (a)live). I thought it would be a cool name to put in this work. ;)If you're interested to know how this work was planned, which tools were used, etc., you can read the full tutorial published in several websites, such as CGArena, snatch59, My Fantasy Art, Painting.DTuts, Photoshopmag.net and DRAWmaster.ru (русский). Thanks a lot for the interest on my work, everyone!
